The bridal shower is over! Things ended up looking gorgeous! I was very pleased with how things turned out. I think Jenna and her Aunt Janette (co-hostess) were ecstatic as well! Here are just some of the pictures from the big day!

Dad's Birthday Card

My dad's birthday is coming up next week. I am going home for the weekend to throw my best friend her bridal shower and thought I better bring his gift and card home with me because I won't be able to see him on the actual day. Here is the simple, but very cute card I made.

Bridal Shower Game Present

For Jenna's bridal shower, we will be playing a couple of games. The winners of the games gets to choose a prize. One of the prizes is a gift card to Starbucks. I wanted to make a cute little container to put the gift card in, this is what I cam up with.

Bridal Shower Favors

I came across the idea of bottle cap magnets when I was walking around downtown Chico. As I was looking at them, I thought that it would be a cute idea for the bridal shower favor that I was in charge of. Once I got the magnets done, I knew that I was going to need a cute way to display all of them. As I was looking around on some blogs, I saw the idea of using chalkboard spray paint. I used three cookie sheets (from the Dollar Store) and spray painted them with 2 coats of the black chalkboard paint (from Michaels).
On this first one, I used Modge Podge to attach scrapbook paper to the bottom section of the cookie sheet. Then I attached "eggplant" ribbon. Oh and by the way, you can also get 100 pieces of chalk at the dollar tree. So, this was a super easy and cheap project.
On this second one, I kept it very simple by adding a piece of silver ribbon and then an embellishment from Michaels.
On the third one, once again just keeping it simple, attached a ribbon on the left hand side.
Here are the three bottle caps that each guest will receive at the end of the party. I hope they like them :)

Bachelorette Party Invitations

Last October, my friend Alison got married. Her invitations were super cool, but when I got it I thought, "Wow, I could make this!" So, this October my best friend Jenna is getting married. Of course I am her maid of honor, so I am in charge of planning the bachelorette party. Here is the adorable invitation!
I used the "Tie the Knot" Cricut cartridge to cut out the lingerie and placed "eggplant" ribbon on the side.
As you can see, the inside of the invitation had multiple layers. I was able to include a ton of information inside of this invite.
I put three separate cards on the inside pocket. One for directions, one for the event schedule, and one about the lingerie party.

This is a picture of the back of the invitation. I kept debating about putting some kind of brads or sticker on the back to keep the tab down, but decided I would rather keep it simple.

New Blog!!!

Well, the school year is getting ready to begin. I have been out working in my classroom and going to math training. Next week professional development classes start and then the kiddos will here! The other day when I was out at school, my friend Megan mentioned that her sister started a teaching blog that she was trying to get a bunch of people to join. She would love for us to put pictures of crafts and projects done in or for our classrooms, but we can also add other projects as well. So, if you get a chance go check it out (just click on the second blog button on the right side of the page).
